How to add your logo and photos to your QR menu

Your logo, a short description and photos of your dishes make the guest menu look like your venue. This guide shows each step in the dashboard and how it looks to guests.

From logo to item photos

The logo and description are set once for the venue. Photos are set on each item.

  1. Open the venue page

In the dashboard owners open the venue page from the menu entry "Venue" and choose to edit it. The section "Logo" is on this page, followed by the description for each language.

  2. Upload your logo

Drop an image on the logo area or choose a file. JPG, PNG and WebP work, up to 5 MB. A square image works best. The logo is saved at once, and the page shows "Logo saved".

  3. Replace or remove the logo

To replace it, upload a new file. To remove it, choose "Remove logo" and confirm "Remove the logo?". Guests then see a letter from your venue name instead of a logo.

  4. Write a description for each language

Under the description, switch the language tabs and write a short line in each, up to 300 characters. It appears under the venue name in the guest menu. Leave a language empty and nothing is shown in it.

  5. Open an item to add its photo

Open "Items", choose "Edit" on a dish, or "Add item" for a new one, and find the section "Photo". Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP file up to 5 MB, and a preview shows.

  6. Save, replace or remove the photo

Choose "Save item" or "Create item", and the photo is uploaded with it. To change it, upload another file. To remove a saved photo, choose "Remove photo" and confirm. It leaves the guest menu at once.

  7. Check the menu as a guest

Scan your own code on a phone. Look at the header with your logo, name and description. Then scroll the list and open a dish to see its photo in the item sheet.

  8. Print the QR cards with your logo

The printed table cards and the To go card show your logo, or the venue name if there is none. Upload the logo first, then print. See how to print and place the codes.

Before you start

Only owners can change the logo, the description and the items. Have these ready, so the work is one sitting:

  • Your logo as a JPG, PNG or WebP file under 5 MB, ideally square.
  • A one or two line description of the venue, in each menu language your plan includes.
  • Photos of your dishes, as JPG, PNG or WebP files under 5 MB each.
  • Your menu with its items, because photos are added to existing items. See build your menu.

How it looks to guests

In the guest menu the header shows your logo, your venue name and, when you wrote one in the guest's language, your description. A long description is shortened with a "More" button. When the description is empty, nothing is shown, and there is no blank gap.

Each item with a photo shows it as a small image in its row, and larger when the guest opens the item. An item without a photo shows the plain row, and a photo that fails to load falls back to the same plain row. A menu where only some items have photos is fine: the rows stay readable.

Images are resized automatically when you upload them, so a large camera file does not slow the menu down.

Photo advice that works

You do not need a studio. These habits make a menu look consistent:

  • Shoot in daylight near a window, without the flash.
  • One dish per photo, with the dish filling most of the frame.
  • Use the same angle and the same plate or table for every dish.
  • Keep text, logos and price tags out of the image, because the menu already shows the name and the price.
  • Photograph what you actually serve, so the dish matches what the guest receives.

Common mistakes

These problems show up most often when a venue adds branding for the first time.

  • Uploading a wide logo with a lot of empty space. A square logo sits better in the small frame.
  • Printing the QR cards before uploading the logo, then printing them again.
  • Writing a long description. Keep it to a line or two.
  • Adding photos to only a few items and expecting a gallery. Photos are optional, so add them where they help.
  • Using a photo with text on it, which is hard to read on a phone.

Questions about logo and photos

Which file types and sizes can I upload?

JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 5 MB each, for the logo and for item photos. QckOrder resizes the image automatically. A file of another type or over 5 MB is rejected with a message.

What if I do not have a logo?

The guest menu shows the first letter of your venue name in a small frame instead. The printed QR cards show the venue name. You can upload a logo later.

Can I use a different logo for each location?

No. The logo belongs to the venue, so the same logo is used for all its locations, in the guest menu and on the printed cards.

Do all items need a photo?

No. Photos are optional. Items without one show a plain row, and you can add photos to some dishes only.

What happens when I remove a photo or the logo?

It disappears from the guest menu at once. You can upload another file at any time. Removing a photo or logo asks you to confirm first.
