QR menu maker for restaurants: build the menu, print the code

A QR menu maker turns your menu into a page that guests open from a printed code. With QckOrder you build that menu once, print the code once, and keep editing.

14 days free, no credit card. Tell us about your venue in a short form and the team gets you set up.

What a QR menu maker does, and what QckOrder is

A QR menu maker is a tool that makes a QR code and the menu behind it, so guests scan the code and read your dishes and prices on their phone. Some tools only make the code. Others also host the menu.

QckOrder is not a free one-off QR menu generator. It is a menu you build and keep editing, with a flat monthly price and a trial that the team sets up with you. If you only want a code for a PDF, a free generator is enough.

  • 14 days free, no credit card.
  • The QckOrder team sets up your account and first menu, as there is no self-serve sign-up yet.

A code that points to a PDF, or a code that opens a menu you edit

The code itself is only a link. What matters is what it opens. The table shows the difference you will notice in the first week.

How to make a QR menu, step by step

Most venues go from first login to a printed code in an afternoon. This is the order that works.

  • The QckOrder team sets up your account and first menu, as there is no self-serve sign-up yet.
  • Add your categories, such as starters, mains, drinks and desserts.
  • Add each item with a name, description, price and photo. Add every size or variant as its own item.
  • Add translations for the languages your guests read.
  • Download the QR code from the dashboard and open it on your own phone to check it.
  • Print the code and place it where guests sit or queue.

What to print the code on, and where to put it

Print the code large enough that a phone reads it from arm's length, with a clear white border around it and a short line such as "Scan to see the menu". Test a printed sample with two or three different phones before you order a whole batch.

Matte stickers, table cards and menu holders work well. Avoid glossy laminate under bright lights, because glare stops the camera reading the code.

  • On table cards or stickers where guests sit
  • At the counter or host stand, for guests who order standing
  • On the front door or window, so people can read the menu before they come in
  • Each location has one QR code, and you can print as many copies of it as you need.

Edit the menu after the code is printed

The printed code opens your menu, not a frozen copy of it. When a dish sells out or a price changes, you edit the item and the next guest who scans sees it. No new code and no reprint.

You can also keep a second menu, such as a seasonal one, and switch which one is active. To see the full flow for a venue, read about QR ordering for restaurants.

QR menu maker: questions

What is a QR menu maker?

It is a tool that creates a QR code and the menu behind it. Guests scan the code with their phone camera and read your menu in the browser. Some makers only create the code, while others also host and update the menu.

Is QckOrder a free QR menu generator?

No. QckOrder is a menu you build and edit, with a flat monthly price and a trial. A free generator only makes a code that points to a file or link you host yourself, which suits a PDF you never change.

How do I get started?

Send the short trial form with your venue details. It reaches the QckOrder team, who set you up. There is no self-serve sign-up yet.

Do I need to reprint the code when the menu changes?

No. The printed code opens your menu in the dashboard, so editing a price, a photo or a dish changes what the next guest sees. You reprint only if the code itself is damaged or you move to a new location.

What size should the printed QR code be?

Make it large enough for a phone to read from arm's length, with a clear white border. Print one sample, test it with several phones and in your venue's real light, then print the full batch.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The trial lasts 14 days and needs no credit card. Send the short form with your venue details and the team sets up your menu with you.
